So I have been on the road almost a week now. Finally have some cell coverage and can use my Blackberry to Blog. We have had a wonderful adventure with many highs and some adversity. Yesterday we rode from Terrance Bay to Wawa. The fog rolling off Lake Superior was spectacular. Late in the day we attended a wake for a very special young man. He lost his battle to cancer on June 16th. This reaffirmed why we are soing what we are doing. So no parent has to bury there child to cancer. Was a very tough moment on this journey. We dedicated our ride to him. Today we rode from Espanola to Owen Sound. We got a reprieve from riding on the ferry to Tobermory. Also one of our Teammates Kathy is from Owen Sound so there was lots of people and a police escort in. Another great day! I am riding from Woodstock to Toronto tomorrow. Hopeing that yoy come and join us along the route and cheer us on. We will be driving through Oakville Place at 2 30 and Sickkids at 6 pm.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of blogging. I havnt had any connectivity to the any type of technolgy. Riding has been phenominal. Riden 1000 km in 5 days and having a blast! This great nation of ours is truly spectacular. We have visited some of the smallest and most remote towns I have ever come across and we have been welcomed with open arms. I will write more soon just worried I will lose my signal again. Miss everyone a tone and can’t wait to see you all. Hopefully in Toronto on Saturday!
Only about 14 hours until we leave for this wonderful adventure. The last 2 days have been filled with anticipation and training. Meeting the team, getting all the gear organized and doing some PR. We went to a wonderful event at BC Childrens hospital yesterday. It was very touching and once again gave us great inspiration and energy!!! The RVs and big rigs are packed and ready to roll. There will be great updates at searsnationalkidescancerride.com. I am super excited for the adventure ahead!!!! I hope everyone is well and will update you soon. :)
All packed and ready to go! I fly out tomorrow for Vancouver to meet the rest of the team and all of our wonderful support. We will spend 2 days in Vancouver before departing for the east coast! I can`t beleive how fast this has come. It feels like only yesterday I was selected to be one of the riders about 7 months ago. Lots of Kms, great fundraising events and group rides later we are almost there!
WE have surpassed our initial goal of $25,000 in fundraising and have now raised over $33,000. Thank you all for your generousity and support!!!
I will be updating my blog as often as possible with pictures, text and if I can get it to work, video. So stay tuned and I look forward to seeing you when I pass through TO on Saturday June 20th!
